Knoxville, TN
Powell is split: the Hallsdale-Powell Utility District provides sewer along some corridors, but much of Powell — especially the older, larger-lot areas — is on septic. This page is for those homes.
The Hallsdale-Powell Utility District (HPUD) serves north Knox County and provides sewer in parts of Powell, charging a sewer availability charge where its system is available to a property. Sampled Powell homes are predominantly on septic, including homes on Emerson Way, Mockingbird Hill Lane, Copeland Drive, Pedigo Road, Bullrun Valley Drive, Helen Drive, Brickyard Road, and Classic Way. The areas to target are older and larger-lot Powell — Brushy Valley, Bullrun Valley, Pedigo Road, and the side roads off Emory Road and Clinton Highway. Sewer is likeliest along the main corridors (Emory Road, Clinton Highway) and in newer subdivisions, so check per parcel.

Both. HPUD provides sewer along some corridors in Powell, but much of the area — especially older, larger-lot Powell — is on septic. There is no single answer for the town; it has to be checked address by address.
Homes sampled on Pedigo Road and in the surrounding Bullrun Valley and Brushy Valley areas are on septic. If your home is there, it is very likely on a septic system — send a request and Scott will call you back.
